Sometimes the care of our oral health becomes something so routine that it is not done in the best way. To avoid having cavities or other diseases of the mouth, pay attention to these 10 simple tips that will help you maintain effective oral hygiene.

  1. Regular checkup. Go to the dentist at least once a year, at least, and from a very early age, since tooth decay can manifest itself after the first tooth comes out.
  2. Brush three times a day. Three times a day, after any meal, brush your teeth. Essentially: before going to bed and in the morning after waking up.
  3. Use fluoride toothpaste. It is advisable to use fluoride toothpaste to prevent cavities.
  4. Brush your head. Proper brushing consists of making short, smooth, and elliptical movements, not forgetting the gum line, the back teeth (difficult to access), and the areas around the crowns of the teeth and fillings (fillings). Don’t share your toothbrush. The exchange of bodily fluids that this would promote increases the risk of infection for those who share them. This is especially important for people with weakened immune systems or infectious diseases.
  5. Replace your brush often. Experts recommend that you renew your toothbrush every three months to eliminate periodontal diseases.
  6. Don’t forget to floss. Use dental floss every day; the best time to use it is at night, since the absence of salivation while sleeping favors the action of bacterial plaque.
  7. Rinse off. Mouthwashes or mouthwashes are an important help when it comes to keeping your mouth healthy and avoiding pathologies and infections. Remember that these are not a substitute for proper brushing of your teeth.
  8. Eat a healthy diet. A varied and balanced diet also helps to strengthen the immune system so that it can defend itself against any infection in the oral cavity. Limit snacking between meals.
  9. Chewing gums help you. If you eat out and cannot brush your teeth, turn to sugar-free gum, particularly those that use xylitol as a sweetening agent (it has a certain bactericidal action). Stimulating salivary secretion leaves your teeth in contact with the best anti-cavity agent around your own saliva.
  10. Don’t abuse bleaches. Although they are effective in brightening teeth, when used excessively and continuously they can damage enamel.

Tips To Maintain Perfect Teeth:

  • Brush your teeth in order, to make sure you brush them all, and vertically so as not to damage the enamel.
  • Brushing should last at least two minutes.
  • Visit the dentist twice a year.
  • Keep the brush in good condition, do not wait to change it when you have no choice.
  • Use dental floss at least once a day. If possible, before washing. The dental floss manages to reach where the brush cannot, so it is not a substitute, but a compliment.
  • Brushing your tongue acts on bad breath and eliminates bacteria that could damage your teeth.
  • Taking care of the gums is essential, if they bleed, visit your dentist.
  • Use fluoride to protect teeth and gums.
  • Brush your teeth after every meal, within half an hour.
